What is POTASSIUM BIIODATE?
Chemical properties
white powder
The Uses of POTASSIUM BIIODATE
Potassium hydrogen diiodate is used in standardizing bases.
The Uses of POTASSIUM BIIODATE
Potassium hydrogen iodate acts as an oxidizing agent. Further, it serves as an intermediate for the synthesis of potassium iodate and also used as an analysis reagent.
Purification Methods
Crystallise the biiodate three times from hot water (3mL/g), and stirring continuously during each cooling. After drying at 100o for several hours, the crystals are suitable for use in volumetric analysis.
