What is Ethyl nonafluorobutyl ether?
Definition
Ethyl nonafluorobutyl ether is a hydrofluoroether (HFEs). HFEs have the potential to be a substitute material for the commonly halocarbonated compounds used in industry in applications such as refrigeration, foaming, precision cleaning, and fire extinguishing. Experimental speed of sound for ethyl nonafluorobutyl ether is presented from 283.15 to 323.15 K at pressures upto 100 MPa[1].
What are the applications of Application
Ethyl nonafluorobutyl ether (EFE) has been used as a co-solvent of nonflammable electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries. As EFE itself has no flashpoint and is non-viscous, it is a promisingαmdidate of a good, safe solvent in a lithium-ion battery system. The EFE-based electrolyte showed lower conductivity than the conventional electrolyte solutions consisting of mixed alkylcar-donate solvent but high performance for a graphite negative electrode[2].
General Description
Ethoxynonafluorobutane can be called as an eco-friendly solvent, which finds applications in chromatography since it has high lipophilic character as a result of which, it can be used as a substitute for hexane.
