3-(4-Methylbenzenesulfonate) (3S)-Tetrahydro-3-furanol is an intermediate used in the synthesis of 3’’’-Epi-Empagliflozin (E586000), which is an impurity of Empagliflozin (E521510) which is a novel, potent and selective SGLT-2 inhibitor, improves glycaemic control and features of metabolic syndrome in diabetic rats.
