What is RADIUMIODATE?
Preparation
Radium Iodate can be
prepared by the reaction of iodic acid upon the
hydroxide of radium:
Ra(OH)2 +HIO3→Ra(IO3)2 +CO2+H2O
It occurs as the monohydrate with a solubility
product of 1.16×10-9. Its solubility in water is 0.04 g/100 ml at 20°C. Little use has been found by Industry and it is not offered for sale commercially.
