Chemical properties
Dimethyl difluoromalonate is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid. It is an organic solvent that is used as a polymerization medium for the synthesis of polymers. It is also used as a raw material in the manufacture of surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. Dimethyl difluoromalonate can be copolymerized with other monomers to produce synthetic resins, which are used in the production of plastics, paints, and coatings.
