The Uses of APETx2
APETx2 is a highly pure, synthetic and biologically active peptide toxin.
Biological Activity
APETx2, a sea anemone peptide from Anthopleura elegantissima, is a selective and reversible acid-sensing ion channel inhibitor of ASIC3 (acid-sensing ion channel) with IC50 of 63 nM. It acts outside the ASIC3 channel. APETx2 reverses acid-induced inflammatory pain.

APETx2 (it or im application, 0.022 to 2.2 μM) resulted in a potent and complete reversal of established mechanical hypersensitivity in the complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) inflammatory pain model.
