What is ZINC ACETYLACETONATE HYDRATE?
Chemical properties
crystal(s) solid; trimer; hydrate is a white powder(s); used as a catalyst in the synthesis of long chain alcohols and aldehydes, and as a textile weighting agent [HAW93] [STR93] [COT88]
The Uses of ZINC ACETYLACETONATE HYDRATE
Zinc Acetylacetonate Hydrate is reduced with other complexes at an oil-water interface to synthesize PdPtZn and PdZn nanoparticle (NP) thin films which exhibits higher catalytic activity compared to Pd thin films. Also, it is used in the preparation of high-crystallinity (Zn,Fe)Fe2O4 films as a MOVCD precursor.
What are the applications of Application
Zinc acetylacetonate is a MOVCD precursor
General Description
Zinc acetylacetonate hydrate (Zn(acac)2) is a hydrated metal organic complex that is hygroscopic in nature. It is majorly used as a precursor for the synthesis of zinc based nano and microparticles.
Purification Methods
The zinc complex crystallises from hot 95% EtOH. [Fernelius & Bryant Inorg Synth V 105 1957, Wakita et al. J Organometal Chem 301 C17 1986, Beilstein 2 IV 144.]
