What is WITHANANINE?

Description

This alkaloid occurs in small quantities in Withania somnifera and forms colourless crystals from CHC13. Two widely different melting points have been reported for the base. It has been characterized as the aurichloride, m.p. 115-9°C and the picrate, m.p. 176-8°C, both of which are crystalline.
