What is Walstromite?

Description

Walstromite, BaCa2Si3O9, is the coarsest-grained mineral in the deposits, and is second only to sanbornite in abundance. It occurs widely as clots and layers of interlocking masses and also as isolated anhedral crystals in sanbornite-quartz rock, more frequently within the quartz-rich zones.Walstromite is white to gray with three perfect cleavages, but otherwise is similar in appearance to sanbornite.
