What is VINCADIOLINE ?
Description
A bisindole alkaloid, vincadioline has recently been isolated from the leaves of Vinca rosea by extraction with C6H6 containing ammonium hydroxide followed by chromatography over activated alumina at 200-400 psi. The structure has been elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods. Vincadioline has been shown to be a potent antimitotic agent which has no apparent effect on other stages of the cell cycle.
