What is VERALBIDINE?

Description

A steroidal alkaloid found in Veratrum album, this base forms colourless crystals from Et2O and has [α]20D + 5.4° (CHCI3) and - 11.7° (pyridine). It is charac_x0002_terized as the hydrochloride, m.p. 250-l o C (dec.) and the thiocyanate, m.p. 235-6°C (dec.).
