ChEBI: Velutin is a dimethoxyflavone that is luteolin in which the hydroxy groups at positions 7 and 3' are replaced by methoxy groups. It has a role as an anti-inflammatory agent, a plant metabolite, a melanin synthesis inhibitor, an antibacterial agent, an antioxidant and an anti-allergic agent. It is a dimethoxyflavone and a dihydroxyflavone. It is functionally related to a 4',5,7-trihydroxy-3'-methoxyflavone.
