What is UV ARIOPSAMINE?
Description
This phenanthrene alkaloid is a constituent of Uvariopsis guineensis Keay and forms colourless needles of uncertain melting point. It is characterized as the picrate which forms orange-red crystals from Me2CO, m.p. 181-2° C and the methiodide, m.p. 230°C (dec.). Four methoxyl groups and an N-dimethylethyl_x0002_amine group are present.
