What is Tetrahydrohistrionicotoxin?
Description
One of a number of structurally related alkaloids isolated from the skin of the toad Dendrobates histrionicus, the structure of this base has been established from chemical and spectroscopic investigations and comparison with other bases obtained from the same source. It gives an ultraviolet spectrum in EtOH consisting of a single absorption maximum at 228 nm.
