What is Teana musk?
Chemical properties
Teana musk has a powerful warm, powdery, musk odor, reminiscent of
ambergris with sweet aspects of nitro musks.
The material can be prepared from cyclododecanone via 3-cyclododecenone,
which is reacted with 1-propenyl-1-magnesium halogenide. The product is
subjected to a Cope rearrangement to give the fragrance material [265]. It
can be used as musk ingredient in various fragrance types for a wide range of
applications.
