Cl-HIBO (chloro-homoibotenic acid) is a subtype selective AMPA receptor agonist (2).

Biological Activity

Subtype-selective and strongly desensitising AMPA receptor agonist; selective for GluR1 and GluR2 subunit-containing receptors (EC 50 values are 4.7, 1.7, 2700 and 1300 μ M for rat recombinant homomeric GluR1, 2, 3 and 4 receptors respectively).
