These characteristics are attributed to royal jelly’s complex composition, which includes a mixture of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, water, growth factors, and various trace elements. It has a high amino acid content (including aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, and lysine), a high vitamin content (particularly the B family, but also A, C, and D), and is also made up of such minerals as potassium, calcium, and iron. Manufacturers cite royal jelly as particularly appropriate for use in anti-aging products, as well as those for oily skin.
