What is ROSTRATINE?

Description

A steroidal alkaloid, rostratine occurs in Marsdenia rostrata. The base furnishes colourless prisms when purified by recrystallization from MeOH-Et20. The alkaloid is optically active having a specific rotation of [α]²²_D+ 49.1 ° (c 1.0, MeOH).
