What is RHYNCOPHYLLINE N-OXIDE?
Description
This derivative of rhyncophylline was originally isolated from the leaves of Mitragyna intermis and M. rotundifolia and subsequently shown to be the major alkaloid of Uncaria guianensis and U. tomentosa. It forms an amorphous white powder with no definite melting point. The ultraviolet spectrum in EtOH has absorption maxima at 245 and 287 nm. The structure has been established from chemical analysis and its formation from rhyncophylline.
