What is Resedine?
Description
A simple alkaloid, resedine has recently been isolated and characterized byRussian workers who have obtained it from Reseda luteola. The structure given has been elucidated on the basis of ultraviolet, infrared, NMR and mass spectra. Alkaline hydrolysis furnishes 2-hydroxyphenethylamine.
The Uses of Resedine
5-Phenyl-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one can be useful in the preparation of dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrazines as hepatitis B antiviral agents.
