(3β)-3-[[(1,1-Dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]olean-12-en-28-ol is an intermediate for the synthesis of β-Amyrin (A636900), which is used as a protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B inhibitor with potential treatment towards diabetes. Also used in the synthesis of HIV-1 integrase inhibitory compounds based upon plant extracts.
