What is ODORINOL?

Occurrence

A hydroxylated derivative of odorine, this alkaloid also occurs in Aglaia odorata and forms colourless needles when crystallized from C6H6H6-light petroleum. It is dextrorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]D25 +40.5° (c0.01, CHCI3). The ultraviolet spectrum in EtOH has a single absorption maximum at 283 nm.
