What is OCHRATOXIN?

Definition

Hepatoxic mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus ochraceus and A. niger and some Penicillium species, mainly P. verrocosum and P. carbonarius that contaminate cottonseed, breads, and raw foods such as stored grains, fruits, such as corn and peanuts.

Hazard

Poison; extremely toxic; teratogen.
