N-((R)-1-(naphthalen-1-yl)ethyl)-3-(3-(trifluoroMethyl)phenyl)propanaMide is a pharmaceutical intermediate ingredient used in the preparation of cinacalcet and its salts. Cinacalcet is used for the management and treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (in the dialysis population), primary hyperparathyroidism (where the patient may not be a candidate for surgical treatment), and for the treatment of end-stage renal disease or the prevention of calcification in dialysis patients.
