Metabolism

Methacrifos administered in animals is rapidly metabolized and excreted. The carboxy methyl ester bond is cleaved as well as the phosphoryl methyl and vinyl ester bonds. Oxidative desulfuration also occurs.

Toxicity evaluation

The acute oral LD50 for rats is 678 mg/kg. Inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rats is 2.2 mg/L air. NOEL (2 yr) for rats is 0.6 mg/kg b.w. daily. ADI is 6 μg/kg b.w.
