What is LINANTENINE?

Description

Isolated from Linanthemum humboldtianum, this crystalline alkaloid can be sublimed at 260° C and, when purified by this means, forms small, colourless crystals. It is a weak base and optically inactive. The hydrochloride forms colour? less needles from EtOH with m.p. 194-5°C; the sulphate is crystalline with m.p. 287°C; the aurichloride forms brick-coloured crystals, m.p. 165-8° C and the picrate, yellow prisms, m.p. 182°C.
