What is JAPINDINE?

Description

shown above which is based upon chemical analysis and spectroscopic evidence. It occurs in the root bark of Chonernorpha rnacrophylla and forms crystals from MeOH which melt with decomposition. The base is slightly dextrorotatory having a specific rotation of [α]27D + 10° (c 0.5, MeOH-CHC13).
