What is Ivorine?
Description
This alkaloid from Erythrophleum ivorense possesses a fully reduced phenan_x0002_threne skeleton, the nitrogen occurring as a methylamino group in the side chain. It is laevorotatory with [α]20D - 43° (c 0.77, CHC1 3 ). A crystalline sulphate has been prepared, m.p. 183°C; [α]20D - 60° (c 0.77, MeOH)
