The Uses of GADOLINIUM(III) SULFATE
Gadolinium(III) sulfate is used as analytical reagents, in inorganic synthesis and electronic ceramics. It is also useful in cryogenic research.

Gd2(SO4)3?8H2O is used in cryogenic work; and in thermoelectric devices.
Preparation
The hydrated sulfate is obtained by dissolving gadolinium(III) oxide indilute sulfuric acid followed by crystallization:Gd2O3 + 3H2SO4 + 5H2O → Gd2(SO4)3?8H2O.
