It is a tetrahydroxyflavanone, a member of dihydroflavonols, a secondary alpha-hydroxy ketone and a member of 4'-hydroxyflavanones. It is functionally related to a kaempferol. It is a conjugate acid of a (+)-dihydrokaempferol 7-oxoanion.
