What is CELAPAGINE?

Description

One of a series of structurally related alkaloids of the esterified polyalcohol type obtained from Celastrus paniculatus, the structure given above is based primarily upon spectroscopic data. The base forms colourless crystals which melt with slight decomposition. Hydrolysis furnishes acetic, benzoic and nicotinic acids.
