What is Azido-PEG5-acid?
Description
Azido-PEG5-acid is a water soluble PEG linker. Azide (N3) group can react with alkyne, BCN, DBCO via Click Chemistry.. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or HATU) to form a stable amide bond.
Biological Activity
Azido-PEG3-acid is a PROTAC linker belonging to the PEG class. It can be used to synthesize PROTAC molecules. Also Azido-PEG3-acid is a non-cleavable ADC linker containing 5-unit PEG that can be used to synthesize antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).

ADCs are comprised of an antibody to which is attached an ADC cytotoxin through an ADC linker.
PROTACs contain two different ligands connected by a linker; one is a ligand for an E3 ubiquitin ligase and the other is for the target protein. PROTACs exploit the intracellular ubiquitin-proteasome system to selectively degrade target proteins.
