Avarone is a cystostatic agent which displays antibacterial and antifungal activities. Also, it is derived from 2-Methoxybenzenemethanol (M260760), which is used in the synthesis of antimycobacterial and antibacterial derivatives. Also used in the synthesis of phthalazines and analogues as benzodiazepine receptos ligands with specific activity.
