Ac-LEHD-AFC Trifluoroacetic Acid Salt is a fluorogenic substrate that is cleaved by caspases (4,5 and 9). This activity is quantified by fluorescent detection of free AFC. Caspase-9 activation is critical for intrinsic cell death.
