The Uses of 5-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester
Methyl 5-Chloro-2-pyridinecarboxylate is used as a reagent to synthesize (propyl)(trifluoromethyl)benzisoxazolyloxypropyl-substituted arylcarboxylic acids and heterarylcarboxylic acids, compounds that are designed to be potent and selective liver X receptor (LXR) agonists. Their purpose is to reverse cholesterol transport and to increase high density lipoprotein (HDL) levels in the body.
