3-Phenylpropyl hexanoate has a sweet, fruity, green odor, with a powerful, warm, fruity taste of peach and pineapple.
The Uses of 3-PHENYLPROPYL HEXANOATE
3-Phenylpropyl hexanoate is probably not used in perfumes. It finds limited use in tlavor compositions for Apricot, Pineapple, Melon, Mango, Passionfruit, etc. The concentration used will be about 1 to 5 ppm in the finished product.
Preparation
By esterification of phenylpropyl alcohol with n-hexanoic acid.
