The molecular structure of Sodium 3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropanesulfonate (CHPS-Na) contains both highly active halogen atoms and hydroxyl groups, as well as hydrophilic sulfonic acid groups. The halogen atoms are prone to substitution reactions and Eliminate reactions. Therefore, CHPS-Na is an essential functional monomer in the synthetic polymer industry. - to prepare surface-derivatized microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) particles having either a strong positive or a strong negative zeta potential.
