2-Pentyl Acetate is a clear liquid that is soluble in water and alcohol and used as a flavoring and fragrance agent. It has a strong nutty, banana odor and a nutty, tropical taste. It finds application in foods requiring banana, herbal, hazelnut, peanut, orange, and wine flavors and fragrances.
The Uses of 2-METHYLBUTYL ACETATE
It is used as a solvent for nitrocellulose & ethyl cellulose, celluloid products, cements, coated paper, lacquers, leather finishes, nail enamels, plastic wood, textile sizing & printing compounds. It is also used in the manufacture of artificial leather, linoleum, and washable wallpaper.
