The Uses of 2-(Dibenzo[b,d]furan-1-yl)-4,4,5,5,-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane

2-(Dibenzo[b,d]furan-1-yl)-4,4,5,5,-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane is a luminescent material that can be used in the composition of organic electroluminescent compounds, organic photovoltaic devices and display devices.

Preparation

1-bromodibenzo[b,d]furan (31.3 g, 126.7 mM), bis (pinacolato) diboron (190.0 g, 190.0 mM), PdCl2(dppf)(4.6 g, 6.3 mM), and KOAc (37.3 g, 380.1 mM) was dissolved in 300 mL of 1,4-dioxane and refluxed for 24 hours. After the reaction was completed, water and DCM (dichloromethane) were added to the mixture at room temperature. The organic layer was dried with MgSO4 and the solvent was removed by a rotary evaporator. The product was purified by column chromatography and recrystallized from methanol to obtained 2-(Dibenzo[b,d]furan-1-yl)-4,4,5,5,-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane.
