Synthesis
The synthesis of 1,4-Thioxane-1,1-dioxide is as follows:
From 208 grams1,4-thioxane with 300 ml of acetic acid and 400 ml mass concentration 30% hydrogen peroxide was stirred at room temperature 2 days. The solvent was evaporated to dryness and recrystallized from dichloromethane-cyclohexane1,4-thioxane-1,1-dioxane 204 g, melting point 76-78 °C, yield 70%.
