PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

description

Zinc antimonide is a chemical compound of zinc and antimony. It is used in transistors, infrared detectors and thermal imagers, as well as magnetoresistive devices. Zinc is a metallic element with the atomic number 30. It is found in nature most often as the mineral sphalerite. Though excess zinc in harmful, in smaller amounts it is an essential element for life, as it is a cofactor for over 300 enzymes and is found in just as many transcription factors. Antimony is a metallic element with the chemical symbol Sb and atomic number 51. It is a silvery white metal of medium hardness that breaks easily. Small amounts of antimony are found in the earth's crust. (L741, L48, L49, L62)
