Lithium bromide (LiBr) is a chemical compound of lithium and bromine. Its extreme hygroscopic character makes LiBr useful as a desiccant in certain air conditioning systems.

Solubility: Soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether; Slightly soluble in pyridine; Soluble in methanol, acetone, glycol and other organic solvents.
Application
Used as water vapor absorber, air temperature regulator, absorption refrigerant, hydrogen chloride remover, tranquilizer, and for photography, batteries, etc.
