Hexylresorcinol is a chemically synthesized component and a derivative of resorcinol, also called 4-hexyl resorcinol, generally abbreviated as 4-HR. Hexylresorcinol is the most well-known alkyl resorcinol Phenol derivatives are excellent inhibitors of polyphenol oxidase.In terms of whitening,they can inhibit the activity of tyrosinase and block the production of melanin.
