Triethanolamine used to formulate cosmetic balsam

It is a colorless transparent viscous liquid at room temperature. It is hygroscopic and ammonia odor, alkaline and irritating. Melting point is 21.2°C, boiling point is 360°C, flash point is 193°C, relatively dense Chemicalbook degree (d420) 1.1242, refractive index (nD20) 1.4852. It is miscible in water, ethanol and acetone, and slightly soluble in ether, benzene and carbon tetrachloride.

Application:

1. The esters formed by triethanolamine and higher fatty acids are widely used as detergents, emulsifiers, humectants and lubricants.

2.It is also used to formulate cosmetic balsams. Triethanolamine is also used as preservative and waterproofing agent, analytical reagent and solvent.
