What is VERTICILLINE?

Description

A minor constituent of Fritillaria verticillata var. Thunbergii, where it occurs with Verticine (q.v.), this alkaloid sinters at 130°C and has the double melting point given above accompanied by an intermediate solidification. The platinichloride has been prepared as a yellow crystalline compound. It has been suggested that the base is identical with Peiminine (q.v.).
