What is Veronamine?
Description
A glycosidic benzylisoquinoline alkaloid found in Thalictrum fendleri (Engelm.), the base has [α]D - 155° (MeOH). The ultraviolet spectrum in EtOH has absorp_x0002_tion maxima at 275 and 282 mil. Hydrolysis with 3 per cent H2S04 on a steam bath furnishes (-)-thalicfendlerine and L-( - )-rhamnose.
