Dibenzo[def,mno]chrysene-6,12-dione,4,10-dibromo- and N-(4-amino-9,10-dioxo-9,10-dihydroanthracen-1-yl)benzamide(2 Moore) condensation.

Synthesis

4,10-Bis-(4'-benzoylaminoanthraquinonyl- 1'-amino)anthanthrone, Indanthren Grey BG, is prepared from 4,10-dibromoanthanthrone and 1-amino- 4-benzoylaminoanthraquinone in naphthalene .

Properties and Applications

blue light grey to navy blue. Black powder. Insoluble in water. In concentrated sulfuric acid for variegated dark green, dilution after dark green precipitation. Alkaline reduction leuco for bordeaux red; Acid reduction leuco for yellow brown. Mainly used for cotton fabric dyeing, suitable for suspension pad dyeing light gray and polyester/cotton blended fabric two bath process, a few used for cotton direct printing.?Also applies to silk, viscose, cotton / viscose, Victoria / cotton blended fabric dyeing, mixed colors good.
