Trimethylsulfonium bromide is an important pharmaceutical intermediate and chemical raw material for the preparation of methylcobalamin and epoxy resins. Methylcobalamin is the active form of vitamin B12 and is used to treat peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
