What is THALICTRININE?

Description

This alkaloid has been described by Norkina and Pakhereva as a bisbenzyiso quinoline base, whereas later workers have assigned the reduced formula to the alkaloid. It has been isolated from Thalictrum simplex where it occurs mainly in the roots and leaves. It is 1aevorotatory with [α]D - 80.9° (CHC13) and is readily soluble in CHC13 but dissolves only with difficulty in Et20.
