What is THALICMIDINE (Thaliporphine)?

Description

An aporphine alkaloid occurring in Thalictrum minus, this base is 1aevorotatory with [α]D - 84° (EtOH). The following salts and derivatives have been prepared: hydriodide, decomposing at 222-6°C; tartrate also decomposing before melting at 239-240°C and the methiodide, m.p. 217-217.5°C. Three methoxy1 groups and one phenolic hydroxyl group are present.
